Candidacy requirements define the parameters on the basis of which an applicant shall be evaluated fit for applying for a particular BCI certification. Candidacy requirements vary across certifications:
To attain a CBMT™ certification, an applicant should preferably be an undergraduate from a recognized university, and an A-Level/O-Level/Higher Secondary/12th grade, who has completed 14 years of formal education.
Applicants coming from non-BPO backgrounds, are expected to have a minimum prior experience of 24 months as trainers in customer care, soft skills development, accounting, computer operations, language, team building, etc. and should have conducted trainings for employees of banks, telecom companies; airlines; large travel companies; insurance companies; retail stores.
For applicants who have a BPO or a contact center background, the minimum prior work experience required is of 12 months as a trainer in any of the outsourcing domains including customer service, back-office services, finance & accounting, technical support, data processing.
For applicants who have the BCI CFPS™/CBSS™/CTSS™/CCIS™ certification, 6 months is the minimum work experience required as a trainer in a BPO organization after their CFPS™/CBSS™/CTSS™/CCIS™ certification.
An applicant should have ideally completed minimum 21 years of age at the time of applying for CBMT™. There is no upper age bar, however for any BCI certification program.
Important: BCI reserves the right to reject the candidacy of an applicant during any time of the application process, if the documentary proofs submitted are found to have false information.
The BPO Professional Certifications Board (BPCB) mandates that individuals desirous of acquiring a BCI certifications require to qualify computer–based exams based on the BCI standards framework. All BCI Exams are computer–based tests timed between 120 - 150 minutes. Applicants registered in BCI certification program enjoy the convenience of scheduling and taking their certification exams online. All the aspiring CBMT™ certificants needs to furbish their Referee Report to match the eligibility criteria.
The referee might be your supervisor or senior managers, whose Work-Performance Report is considered as a Feedback or evaluation from their side on your work performance, professional competence and ethics.
The referee has to log into the BCI assessment portal, and click on the required link to fill the Report and submit.
An assignment needs to be submitted by the CBMT™ registrant. This is a mandatory report assigned by BCI.
BCI instructs the applicant to submit the Assignment Report in MS Word format and upload it in the designated location on BCI Assessment/Dissertation portal.
A typical Assignment Report/Dissertation would have a word-count of 7000 and carry 200 marks.

The CBMT™ certification is valid for exactly three years from the date of award. BCI keeps on inculcating new trends and knowledge, as per the industry waves so that the registrant learns about the ever evolving BPO industry. Your CBMT™ certification is valid for 3 years and to continue your qualification, you have to recertify. Recertification implies making your CBMT™ credential valid again before its validity expires in 3 years. Keeping your CBMT™ alive and active through recertification is easy. There will be frequent recertification reminder emails and text messages from BCI and from other BCI partners associated with you and you simply have to click the links mentioned in these communications, or log into your BCI account and register for CBMT™ recertification. Remember, training is NOT mandatory for recertification and you have to only register and complete some documentary formalities. In case you have not been working for more than last three months at the time of applying for the recertification, you will be required to take the CBMT™ recertification examination.
BCI permits unlimited number of recertification chances for CBMT™ and your CBMT™ qualification can expire only if it has not been “refreshed” once in three years. You will receive frequent reminders from BCI and other BCI partners on this and there are exciting upgrade offers, which you can grab and get fee discounts.
You should apply for recertification at least 8 weeks prior to the date of expiry of your CBMT™ certification. This date is mentioned on your CBMT™ certification as well. In addition, you will receive frequent reminders from BCI to this effect. Remember, if your CBMT™ recertification application is NOT received by BCI till two weeks before the expiry of your certification, your recertification request will be only processed as a fresh CBMT™ application and you will have to pay the applicable full CBMT™ fee.
