The Inspirit! Performing Arts group arrived in Vilnius

The Inspirit! Performing Arts group arrived in Vilnius on the afternoon of Friday 30 July and has been hard at work ever since. The group has been busy preparing the exhibition hall located at Vilniuje, Z Liauksmino g. 8/2 for the opening of the project's photo exhibit. The exhibit contains many photographs taken by artist Ineta Alvarado of the exquisite Baha'i Gardens in Haifa, Israel.

The group has also been busy handing out invitations to the photo exhibit, public talks and their performances. Additionally, the members of the group have been presenting the workshops they have prepared for the project.
Training workshops

The Inspirit! group has been hard at work getting together number of training programs for presentation in Lithuania. They include workshops on the importance of encouragement, the art of Bahá’í consultation, moral leadership, and how to establish and run a performing arts workshop.

Musical training will include the art of chanting, the basics of music theory, and how to start a choir. Many songs will be taught ranging from simple rounds to sacred, four-part harmony. Dance training will include the traditional Bahá’í youth workshop dances.

There will be training in the art of tableaus. Project participants will learn how to use the performing arts in the three core activities of the Five Year Plan--devotional meetings, children's classes, and study circles.

Quest of the Spirit premiere
3 July 2004, Haifa, Israel

Inspirit! Performing Arts opens season with a bang. The group gave the premier performance of “Quest of the Spirit” on 3 July 2004 to an audience in Haifa. The performance was well received by a crowd of some 200 people.

Numerous accolades were received about the clarity of the vision presented in the performance, the superior quality of the musical numbers, the excellent costumes and the vivid images of the simultaneous PowerPoint presentation.

Group travels to Lithuania

Main group arrival on Friday 30 July 2004, local project participants arrive Saturday 31 July 2004.

Departure by the main group is Friday 13 August. The projects initiated by the main group will be continued by a smaller group of four or five members who will stay on in Lithuania though September.
