FILM STARS

Hannah Lootfun is involved in the film 'Thunderpants', which will be on the big screen.  In addition to this, Farah, Hannah, & Yusef and Fifi are all part of a Bollywood film 'Kabhi Kushi Kabhi Ghum' –  'Sometimes happy, sometimes sad' –  released in December 2001 in big screen.

Less dramatically, Farah went to Whitby Bay with her school for a week in early May and Yusef, quietly trimming the hedges at Shoghi Effendi's Resting Place at 8 o'clock one morning, found himself joined by nine National Spiritual Assembly members.  They hadn't come to help him  trim the hedges, though.

Now –  some information from Class 2.

Bahá’í New Year – by Shabnam Pervaiz

There are 19 months in the Bahá'í Calendar and each month has l9 days.

At the end of the l9 months there are four days left ever.  These days are called Ayyam-i-Há or intercalary days.

After Ayyam-i-Há comes the fasting.  During the fasting Bahá'í adults eat before sunrise and after sunset.  The fast lasts for l9 days.

After the fasting comes Naw-Ruz when Bahá'ís celebrate.  Naw-Ruz is the first day of the New Year in the Bahá'í Calendar.

After Naw-Ruz comes Ridván.  This is when Bahá'u'láh declared His mission.

And while we're on dates, remember the first School Sunday for next year –
16 September at the same school.
