Ferraby School News
(Jan 2001) Towards the end of November the Bahá'ís of Chelmsford
hosted an evening of food and entertainment for the old folk of the area. The
Mayor and Mayoress were among the many that attended. The entertainers included many familiar faces from the
Ferraby Bahá'í School. Mandana Harrison recited William Blake's poem 'Tyger,
tyger burning bright' (yes he does spell Tiger that way) and her brother Sasan,
singing at the piano and keeping the sound at just the right level, was warmly
applauded and asked for more. Between the Harrisons, Hannah and Farah Lootfan gave a wonderful display of the grace and beauty of Indian dancing. It was good to see what talent we have amongst us. The guests were very grateful and had an exciting evening. The next day, the Bahá'ís of Havering presented a bench to Harold Wood hospital. Some friends from Epping were also present to see the hospital chaplain read a Bahá'í prayer and the Mayor of Havering thank the Bahá'ís for their gift. John Lester presented "Who's writing the Future?" to the Mayor at the end. John, Barbara and Alan went to a meeting with Harvering councillors and others to discuss how we can help others in the area. Nava goes to meetings about Racial Equality. NOW – What kinds of things are you doing? WANTED – Your news. WANTED – A nice drawing for the front page. This is meant to be the first of many newsletters for the Ferraby Bahá'í School. The Director has written this one. How much can you do for the next?
