Obtaining Bahá'í Books

A number of sources of Bahá'í books and information are available to the public. They include:

Public Libraries and Bookstores

Public libraries usually carry a limited selection of Bahá'í books. Books can also be ordered through local retail bookstores.

Bahá'í Bookstores

Two excellent Bahá'í bookstores are located in the Bay Area. The first is at the San Francisco Bahá'í Center, 170 Valencia St., San Francisco, CA 94103. You may call ahead for business hours and other information at (415) 431-9990 or send e-mail to sfbc@earthlink.net.

The second is a bookshop/cafe located at Bosch Bahá'í School in the Santa Cruz Mountains, near Felton. Bosch is a wonderful retreat in the redwoods, open at all times of the year. Directions and information can be obtained by calling the School at (408) 423-3387, or by sending an e-mail to bosch@usbnc.org.

Danville Bahá'í Library

The Bahá'ís of Danville provide complimentary copies of certain publications (while supplies last). They include:

The Bahá'ís -- an overview of the worldwide Bahá'í community and its teachings, organization, history, and statistics in magazine form with many beautiful photos..
The Vision of Race Unity -- a statement prepared by the National Spiritual Assembly on the "most challenging issue" facing America.
The Hidden Words -- a small book of scripture revealed by Bahá'u'lláh, the Prophet-Founder of the Bahá'í Faith.
The Promise of World Peace -- a letter to "the peoples of the world" from the Universal House of Justice, the international Bahá'í governing body. The opening line is at the top of the home page of this site.
Two Wings of a Bird -- a description of the principles underlying the need for equality between women and men.
