The Bahá’í World — The official website of the Baha'i Faith.
"Disunity is the crux of the problems which so severely afflict the planet. It permeates attitudes in all departments of life. It is at the heart of all major conflicts between nations and peoples. More serious still, disunity is common in the relations between religions and within religions, vitiating the very spiritual and moral influence which it is their primary purpose to exert. 'Should the lamp of religion be obscured,' Bahá'u'lláh asserts, 'chaos and confusion will ensue, and the lights of fairness, of justice, of tranquility and peace cease to shine.' "
Universal House of Justice - 26 November 1992

Baha'u'llah
May 29, 1992, marked the centenary of the passing of Baha'u'llah, Founder of the Baha'i Faith. His vision of humanity as one people and of the earth as a common homeland, has captured the imagination and allegiance of several million men and women from virtually every race, culture, class, and nation on earth.

"Ye are the fruits of one tree, and the leaves of one branch. Deal ye one with another with the utmost love and harmony, with friendliness and fellowship. He Who is the Day-Star of Truth beareth Me witness! So powerful is the light of unity that it can illuminate the whole earth."—Bahá'u'lláh

The Covenant of Baha'u'llah
"Throughout the past century, the sphere of unity encompassed by the Covenant of Bahá'u'lláh has steadily widened as the Bahá'í community has grown and spread around the world. Today, over 150 years after the birth of the Bahá'í Revelation, millions of followers in hundreds of countries and territories all over the world remain united through the provisions of Bahá'u'lláh's Covenant...

As humanity comes of age, the peoples of the world are awakening to the fact of their oneness and to the vision of the earth as a single homeland. The spiritual authority of Bahá'u'lláh's Covenant provides us with a framework for healing past differences, whether of race, class or creed, and establishes a new kind of relationship between us and our Creator. The moral empowerment that comes to us through this divine bestowal will enable us, for the first time in human history, to build a unified global society."

Bahá'í Writings
"Immerse yourselves in the ocean of My words, that ye may unravel its secrets, and discover all the pearls of wisdom that lie hid in its depths." —Bahá'u'lláh

A New Religion and not a Sect
The Bahá’í Faith is not a sect or denomination of another religion, nor is it a cult or a social movement. It is not based on a mixture or selection of teachings from past religious revelations. Rather it is founded on new books of divine scripture revealed by Bahá’u’lláh.

Bahá'í World Center in Haifa, Israel
Baha'u'llah spent many years banned to the prison city of Akka. Before His passing, Bahá'u'lláh indicated that the world headquarters for the Faith He had founded would be in the Haifa/Akka area in the north of what is now Israel. The region today is home to the spiritual and administrative heart of the Bahá'í Faith. Each year, thousands of pilgrims come from around the world to pray and meditate in the Shrines, and to visit the other Bahá'í holy places in the Haifa/Akka area. These pilgrimages, which bring together Bahá'ís from all over the world, serve further to give social cohesion and integration to the Faith.
