Sunday, May 17, 2009: Cluster Development Consultation with Yvonne Billingsley
On Sunday, May 17, 2009, we are honored to welcome a member of our Regional Baha'i Council of the Central States, Yvonne Billingsley, to southwest Ohio.
The Regional Council is sending her to help guide us on our path of development, as a Cluster, in relation to the goals of the Five Year Plan.
The focus at this meeting will be on the roles of Local Spiritual Assemblies within the framework of Cluster development.
While it is very important for the friends serving the LSAs and Groups in the area to attend, the meeting is open to all who have a desire to participate, study and serve with a deeper understanding of the current Five Year Plan.
We hope that many of our local friends (even if not technically living in the Cluster) will be able to respond to this invitation, and join us for this loving consultation and study session.
The Regional Council plans for these sessions to be scheduled once every quarter - this is the first.
This session will be at the Cincinnati Baha'i Center, 2723 Montana Avenue, from 9:30am - 12:30pm .
Monthly Feasts
The monthly Baha'i Feast is usually held at the Baha'i Center on the day of the Feast at 7:00 PM. Call Lia Ferrell, the Corresponding Secretary of the Cincinnati LSA for details. She can be reached at 513-607-0825. The next Feast, Azamat, will be held on Sunday, May 17, 2009 at 1:00 PM, following the Cluster Development Consultation.
Blazing Hearts Baha'i Youth Workshop
The Blazing Hearts Baha'i Youth Workshop is a group of youth aged 11 to 18 who perform dances with themes of social significance. The Workshop usually meets one weekend a month, alternating between the Cincinnati and the Indianapolis Baha'i Centers. The Workshop is great fun and is open to all youth, Baha'i or not, age 11 and older. Call the Workshop Co-Ordinator, Bill Ferrell, at 513-368-9712 for more information.
The Workshop's next performance will be Saturday, May 16, 2009, at the "The Southwest Ohio Regional Cultural Diversity Awareness Conference" sponsored by the Cincinnati Human Relations Commission. This conference is free and open to the public. The Workshop will be performing two dances and presenting a short skit about the benefits of embracing cultural diversity.
The Workshop has three more performances scheduled this summer, with more being planned. Check back often for more information, or call Bill Ferrell at 513-368-9712.
