The board of directors of the institute:

• "oversees the institute process as a whole,largely through the periodic reports of the coordinator and through occasional consultations."
• "reports to the National Spiritual Assembly through the Regional Baha'i Council"
• consults with the Council regularly concerning the role of the institute "to provide human resources to meet the teaching needs of the region."
