INTERFAITH EXPERIENTIAL PRAYER SERIES COMMENCES

On Sept. 14 2005, Sherna Deamer, member of the Local Spiritual Assembly of the Bahai's of San Rafael, and executive team member of the Marin Inter-Faith Council, shared in the introduction to the Tiburon's Community Congregational Church's "Interfaith Experiential Prayer Series."

This was the first of nine sessions in which "some of the Bay Area's most inspiring and influential spiritual leaders of different faith traditions ... will share prayer as it is practiced in their tradition, and then invite us into the experience".

The Rev. Don Felt, holder of the church's "Spiritual Renewal Chair" introduced the series as a whole, then handed over to Sherna Deamer the last 30 minutes of the evening to outline the place of prayer in the Baha'i community. The audience was enraptured by the presentation, listened to Baha'i prayers and asked many questions. All copies brought by Sherna of two different introductory Bahai prayer books were taken by members of the audience to read at home.
